Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and the other day I read Ephesians 1:4, and it made my jaw drop. It struck me in a fresh, new way and I was astounded to read this: “Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.” Think about that. Before the foundation of the world – that is, before God spoke this world into being, before He said “let there be light”, before the Spirit of God moved upon the waters, before all that – God loved you, and He chose you. He was thinking of you, delighting in you before there was even a sun, moon or stars, even before there was day and night. And why did He choose you? To be in Christ – now get this – and to be holy. So, Christian friend, get about doing that today, would you? For God chose you, and you certainly can choose to honor Him in all that you say and do today.
