Beautiful Hands

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and as an artist, I notice women’s hands. Like my mother’s caring hands or the helpful hands of my secretary; but the most beautiful hands I’ve ever seen belong to Diane, my friend with multiple sclerosis. Diane’s hands are atrophied from long years of disability; the skin is cracked and her fingers are curled and rigid. Yet, her hands are gorgeous. Because of her disability, Diane has found important work for her hands. She slowly clasps them together and prays. And I tell you, when she prays, things happen. People get saved; marriages get mended; depression is lifted. God moves through Diane’s prayers! And you can pray like her. Just put your hands together and get about the work that she loves so much. You can partner with us in prayer. Visit joniandfriends.org to view our monthly prayer letter. Let Diane be your example in the work that makes for beautiful hands.
