Alice’s Story

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Alice has a son with autism named Alex who struggles with occasional outbursts. They had been to several churches, but there was always a problem, usually with Alex. And so, this little family never found a church home. One Sunday, Alice took her son to a new fellowship that had just been started in town. Things were going great until a month later when Alex let out a scream during the church service. She quickly grabbed his arm and left the worship center, crying. thinking to herself, “Well, we won’t be welcomed back there.” But the exact opposite happened. People could easily see that this woman needed help, and so they reached out. And that little fellowship became Alice and Alex’s church home.
