A Sacrifice of Thanks

There’s a very good reason you should give thanks to God when things are hard, and that good reason is stated in Psalm 50, verse 23, it says, “He who sacrifices thank offerings… prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God.”

Okay, so, yes, sometimes giving thanks to God feels like a sacrifice – they gotta push through pain in order to show gratitude to God, right? But! It comes with a big blessing. For when you do it, you prepare the way for God to show you his salvation; that is, his deliverance, his rescue; redeeming your pain, knowing you have a way out, and saving you from yourself.

There’s your salvation! Is there a trial that’s getting you down? Take a step of faith and make a sacrifice. Offer thanks to the Lord, and you are well on your way to being blessed and delivered.
