A Restaurant Hymn Sing

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And some time ago, while traveling, my friends and I stopped at a little buffet restaurant for an early dinner. Instead of saying grace, we decided to sing a hymn – there weren’t a lot of people in the restaurant. But a family a few tables away heard us and shared that they, too, were Christians. And before we knew it – after dessert – we meandered over to their table, and we started all singing hymns. Not long ago – all these years later – I received an email from that family, sharing how much that that moment of singing hymns together continues to yield the fruit of encouragement in their lives.

Friend, the Bible says, “Speak to one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs.” Singing spiritual songs is an encouragement both for our brothers and sisters in Christ and for ourselves. So, try singing today, whether at a restaurant or in any and every situation.
