“And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house.”

Isaiah 22:23

You would agree, the world is teetering on the brink of despair. So much division and social isolation, people no longer know how to trust each other. Resentful feelings erupt too easily into anger, and everyone’s emotions seem brittle and near the breaking point. It’s why the picture of Christ painted in Isaiah 22 is such a comfort right now.

For God says, “I will fasten [my Son] as a nail in a sure place.” In an unstable world about to become unhinged, the Bible keeps reminding us that Christ is a solid rock, a mighty fortress. He’s the unyielding, firm foundation on which you can build your life. So if you want evenness in your emotions, calmness in your character, and serenity in your hearts, why hinge your life today on anything other than God and his promises? Trust him. After all, he’s the “nail in a sure place.”
