A Lesson From Moses

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Moses never thought of himself as a public speaker, and so when God told him to go back to Egypt to rescue his people, Moses dug in his heels. He felt that his oratorical imperfections prevented him from responding to God’s call. But God reminded him in Exodus 4:11 of an important fact. He said to Moses: “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes people deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I’ll help you speak and I’ll teach you what to say.” Oh, friend, recognizing your weakness today is the hallmark of God’s call on your life. For it is only in your weakness that God supplies all the strength you need. And you certainly need His strength to fulfill His calling. If you’d like to see how God uses weak people in Christian service, then just visit us today at joniandfriends.org.
