Thoughts in the Corner

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.  When you’re faced with one hardship after the next, have you ever thought that God might be asking too much of you?  Well, if you really want to know what God is asking of you, Deuteronomy 10 says, “What does the Lord your God ask of you, but to fear [Him], to walk in all His ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul…”  Now when I read that early on in my disability, I felt like God was asking too much of me, but my problem was, I wasn’t thinking about what God had already given me.

Listen to Romans 8.  It says, “He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all – how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things.”  If you’re tempted to think that He’s asking too much of you, remember what He’s given you – His own Son, Jesus Christ.  And knowing that, it’s not hard to love Him with all your heart and soul. That’s your little Diamond in the Dust today.
