Wheels for the World in IndiaThis rapidly growing country has a multidimensional culture shaped by several world religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. The ancient caste system greatly impacts the population’s behaviors and perceptions and there is a highly segregated rich and poor class. Those with a physical disability are frequently discriminated against and are often referred as “untouchables” in their communities. On this outreach you will travel to multiple cities throughout the country a provide a life-changing wheelchair and the message of Christ to hundreds of people affected by disability along the way. Use your unique gifts and talents to serve on our team as a seating specialist, mechanic, photographer, or other support role. Team members may also have opportunities to teach community workshops on topics related to disability awareness, physical therapy, disability ministry, and special education. We will help you acquire the necessary visa which is required by all visitors in this country. Outreach costs are all-inclusive.
