Wheels for the World - El Salvador 2

October 10 - October 21, 2017
  • October 10 - October 21, 2017
  • Cost: $1,640

*This Outreach is Full.

With an area slightly smaller than the state of Massachusetts and a population of over 7.2 million, El Salvador is the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America. The dense population generates an overwhelming need for mobility equipment. Team members are needed to fit wheelchairs and other mobility equipment (seating specialists such as physical and occupational therapists), repair and adjust wheelchairs and other mobility equipment (mechanics), and serve on the support team (sewing, photography, etc.).  You will also be working closely with Salvadoran therapists and mechanics as we continue to equip them to better serve people affected by disability. There are also opportunities to serve on our Total Access team – helping to bring accessibility to El Salvador. If you prefer construction activities or have experience in this area, please join our TA team to help build ramps, widen bathrooms, etc. You will also have the opportunity to work in the community to teach accessibility design with a multi-disciplinary team meeting accessibility needs in the local community. Join us in this delightful country on the edge of the Pacific Ocean to enlighten and inspire Salvadorans affected by disability with the love of Christ. The cost for this outreach is all-inclusive.
