Total Access empowers churches to be “change agents” in society by working to make schools, homes, and hospitals more accessible to people with physical disabilities.
As Joni and Friends outreach teams travel to developing nations, we are constantly confronted by a lack of accessibility for people with disabilities. We see how difficult it is for people with limited abilities to get around. Several years ago, we took on the challenge of meeting this critical need and started a Joni and Friends Initiative called Total Access. Our vision is to partner with churches, ministries and individuals in the U.S. by putting together small teams of construction professionals and support people. These teams labor alongside our International Partners to build ramps, widen doorways, and do other projects for people with disabilities. Quite often, Total Access teams accompany a Joni and the Friends Wheels for the World outreach.
