Through the Bible…

Our Through-the-Bible-in-a-Year schedule has us well into the Book of Jeremiah, and reading it is like handling a sharp scalpel. Whenever I become lazy about sin, I find that all 52 chapters quickly deflate my complacency. In Jeremiah, God’s Word hits hard! I mean, when it comes to our sinful tendencies, who wants to be likened to a wild donkey in heat sniffing the wind?! Yes, it’s humiliating to be chastened by the Holy Spirit that we are not as wise or winsome, loving, long-suffering, or merciful as we thought – that we are, in fact, greedy sinners. But when the Spirit scrutinizes your soul, there’s something refreshing about confessing and leaving sinful ways behind. So onward and upward as together we Read-Through-the-Bible-in-a-Year (that’s my quad-buddy David and his friend Ana, who are also reading with us)! Have you sloughed off? Don’t worry; just pick it up where we are now and together we will finish strong. Here’s the schedule :-).
