Hidden Sins

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and it is not easy doing things from a wheelchair. For instance, being a quadriplegic in a wheelchair makes it tough for me to be a good housekeeper. I cannot see the dust that collects on the tops of things – although I know it’s up there! That’s why I really appreciate it when friends point out things that need to be cleaned; stuff I can’t see. And you know what? There’s a lot of spiritual dust in my life that I cannot see either. Sins that are so secret, so hidden, that most of the time, I don’t even see them. But Psalm 90 says, “Lord, you have set…our secret sins in the light of your presence.” Wow. Do you have someone who points out the spiritual problems in your life? It may not be fun at first; it may feel awkward, but you need the help of other Christians to see in your life what you cannot. So welcome that bit of criticism – after all, God wants you to have a clean heart!
