HabakkukHave you ever heard of the name Habakkuk? It is a name that sounds a little silly. But Habakkuk is a book in the Bible that is named after a man who was not silly at all. He had a very important message to tell God’s people. But maybe you’ve been reading the Bible along with Joni and Ken and didn’t think Habakkuk started out with a very important message. He started out by complaining! We all know we aren’t supposed to complain, but that is what Habakkuk did! He complained about all of the bad things happening around him. But he didn’t keep complaining forever. After listening to God and getting a better perspective on all of the bad stuff, he said a very important thing. He lists a bunch of bad things that could happen and then he said, “But I will still be glad because of what the Lord has done. God my Savior fills me with joy” (Habakkuk 3:18, NIrV). So if you have a day where you feel like complaining, stop and listen to God! Just like Habakkuk, you’ll get a better perspective and you’ll be filled with joy!
