Meet my Friend, Sungchil Park

Sungchil was a skilled pianist in Korea; she loved to perform and also gave lessons to students. Her husband, Moses, who had been a voice major at Yonsei University, often enjoyed singing when Sungchil would play (he was also a successful businessman in an export company). Then in 1989, a terrible automobile accident left her a quadriplegic; it also took the lives of their two children. Thankfully, Moses and Sungchil Park possessed a strong faith in Christ and, eventually, they established Shalom Disability Ministries for special-needs families in LA’s Korean-American community. Although Sungchil has to lie in bed often because of pressure sore problems, she spends her time memorizing God’s Word – she has the book of Psalms committed entirely to memory!
