Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Once while I was on a ship in Alaska, we were sitting on the back deck when all of a sudden, a huge great eagle came out of nowhere and sort of hang-glided right above us. He wasn't going anywhere, but he was. He was soaring and waiting above our heads. Well, sometimes we are like that eagle. It may look like we're not going anywhere, but we are. Isaiah 40 says "Those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary." Most of us think of "waiting on God" as something passive, but, waiting on God is an active, confident trusting. And that is definitely going somewhere, so today, mount up on eagle's wings, and soar and circle and wait, being carried by the updraft of God's grace... in that same way, you’ll move forward with the Lord.
