Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In Psalm 59, David writes, “But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” Somewhere along the way, perhaps when he was just a shepherd boy watching sheep, David decided to begin his day with God. No matter what was going on in his life, he took time to reflect on the strength, love, goodness, and protection of the Lord. And the psalm says he even sang about it… while men waited outside his front door to kill him! There is something special about seeking God in the morning, especially in times of trouble. When you begin the day singing about God’s strength, you’ll be less likely to “sing the blues” when the day is over. So, join me in setting the tone for the day with praise. Choose a favorite worship song and make it your anthem from morning till night.
