The Promise

How long will you wait for a promise to be fulfilled before you stop believing? Weeks? Months? Years? Well, try centuries!

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. How long will you wait for a promise to be fulfilled before you stop believing? Weeks? Months? Years? Well, try centuries! If you leaf through the pages of the Bible, you'll find that God's people hung onto the promise of a Deliverer for a long time. God promised Abraham and his descendants that one day a Messiah would come. Although a lot of Abraham’s descendents stopped believing, many hung on, continuing in the faith. Well, the promised Messiah did come, but much more about that original promise needs to be fulfilled. It’s why you and I are hanging on and waiting… waiting for the Blessed Hope, that wonderful Day when Jesus Himself will return. So don’t be like some of those descendents of Abraham. Never stop believing. It may take many years, even decades. The important thing is, God has promised so let's believe it.
