Pain Management

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I have learned some important things about pain management. First, we live in a broken world. Suffering is just inescapable, and there will be pain. You know, when I embrace that, it relieves so much anxiety and fear. And Jesus understands. He’s been tested and tried, just like any of us dealing with pain. Why, He’s the King of pain, and I am constantly running to His arms, pleading for His grace. Plus, I do simple things like stretching often, breathing deeply, drinking lots of water, stretching again, taking anti-inflammatories, and more stretching. Pain meds help, but they can have terrible side effects. And it’s not wise to become dependent. If you use daily medication, work with your doctor to change it up. Never stay on one med too long. And whatever you do, when it concerns pain, keep immersed in God’s Word because God’s Word goes where no pain medication can ever go.
