This is Joni, and I have to brag on my dear mother-in-law, Kyoko Tada. She was in her mid-80’s when she passed away, but until she went home to heaven, she made the best of those remaining years God gave her. Mom Tada was a little Japanese woman who didn’t let age stand in her way. For years my mother-in-law refused to join a senior citizen center, but then she took the plunge. She learned how to line dance... helped with Meals on Wheels…was involved in her church… volunteered at the gift shop at the Hollywood Bowl. She just decided she wasn’t going to let those encroaching years stop her from serving God. Proverbs 16:31 reminds us that “Gray hair is a crown of splendor…” When you hit your 80’s with all that gray hair, remember, it’s a crown. Especially if you keep serving God.
