I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I used to love going horseback riding. Especially when my sisters and I would ride our mares with their colts by their sides. We would amble along the bridle paths through the pastures, and those four little guys would gallop ahead, kicking and jumping! We’d laugh because we knew that at the end of the ride those colts would be dragging. They were all about racing ahead, not keeping in step with their mothers. And sometimes we grown-up Christians are just like those little colts. We race out into our day and pay no attention to Galatians 5 where it says: "Let us keep in step with the Spirit." So today, whatever you've got going, remember that it should be the Holy Spirit who sets the pace. Wait on the Lord and you won't get ahead of things, or miss out on any important details of his plan for the day. Remember, let God set the pace.
