I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You’ve often heard me speak about delivering wheelchairs to needy disabled people overseas, but we also take walkers. It’s because of children like Hiralda down in Peru. This little girl became disabled as a result of a car accident. Hiralda's mother came to our distribution, carrying her daughter. She said, “my little girl is getting too heavy to carry. My biggest prayer is for her to walk.” After examining Hiralda’s legs, our physical therapist realized she had potential to walk. With her new walker, Hiralda pulled herself up and took her first tentative steps, grinning from ear to ear. Her mother was shocked. God answered her prayers! Both mother and daughter opened their hearts to Jesus that day . Doors are about to open for little Hiralda– and her walker will take her through them.
