This is Joni, and the older I get, the less important things on earth seem. A new wardrobe? Enlarging my kitchen? Keeping up with the nightly news? Checking out the sales like I used to? No, life is simpler… a little more basic. I have a feeling it might be a matter of faith. When your faith grows, the concrete world in which you live becomes drained of importance. As you grow in faith, unseen things seem much more real, while the visible things of this world grow dim, less important. Faith like that only comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. In Colossians 3 it says: Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Friend, today, set your heart and mind on things above; or more specifically, on our wonderful Lord above… the author and perfecter of all your faith!
