Consider It Pure Joy

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. But here’s a different slant on it. James 1:2‑3 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds...” James says here that a trial is not an assault to be withstood; it’s your opportunity to seize. And this is intended to inspire us. Trials are a chance to not only hone our faith, but a chance to prove our love for the Savior and make us more like Christ. With a perspective like this, life becomes inspiring – not in spite of the trials but because of them. So God may test you... no, I take that back, God will test you and the devil may tempt you. You can go forward in faith, or retreat. But consider each test, a chance to increase your faith and have a closer friendship with God. And that my friend... is where the pure joy happens!
