Recently, my friend Michelle told me about a conversation she had with her dad the day before he died of cancer.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Recently, my friend Michelle told me about a conversation that she had with her dad the day before he died of cancer. Her father seemed restless that day, unable to let go. Sitting by his bedside, Michelle said, “Daddy, it’s okay. I’ll be fine. You can let go.” He sighed and whispered, “I won’t be here to walk you down the aisle.” Now Michele is only 20 and not engaged, but she said, “Oh Daddy, please don’t worry about my wedding. You're heading for a better country, heaven! My wedding dress will only yellow and fade just like the photos. But everything in heaven will last forever, and I will meet you at the real wedding on the other side!” Her dad immediately relaxed, and the next day he passed peacefully away. Oh friend, have you set your heart not on the passing things of this earth but on your heavenly country? Believe me, heaven will be so much better than this passing earth!
