Appreciating Prayer

Nothing pleases an artist, like me, more than to hear, “Hey, that’s nice...”

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Nothing pleases an artist, like me, more than to hear, “Hey, that’s nice...” Well, once after experimenting on a painting of some tulips, I crumpled up the painting and tossed it in my trash basket. Well, my friend came for a visit and pulled that painting out of the trash and decided to have it framed. And that reminded me of the way that God deals with us. Isaiah said that all our righteousness, the best of us, are nothing but filthy rags. And so, in a sense, we’re heading for the landfill...nothing commendable about us... whatever we’ve tried to make of our life, we’ve failed without Christ.  But then there’s that promise...  “God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son.” Praise God, He rescues us right out of the waste basket and He redeems us. He irons out all the wrinkles and showcases us by His awesome, redemptive power.
