Hidden in Him

SamuelHi my name is Samuel. I am seventeen years old and I am a Christian. I also have autism. Do you know someone with autism? Maybe you have a friend, brother, sister or classmate who has autism. Many people are learning more and more about what autism is than ever before. Because autism is a disorder that disturbs the nervous system, it does not always look the same in every person. The nervous system is like a little highway that your brain uses to send and receive messages about what is happening in your body and around you. For example, I am considered to be verbally limited. This means I can’t talk very much and when I do it’s often not what I really want to say! Can you imagine not being able to talk or saying the wrong thing when you do? About a year and a half ago, I had a wonderful thing happen to me! Jesus made a way for me to communicate using a letter-board and iPad. I can communicate, like I am right now, by pointing to letters to spell out what I’m thinking. What a wonderful Savior we can run to in our sadness and loneliness. We can hide under the feathers of His wings! Psalm 91:4 says, “He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge, His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart (fort).” Please check back on this blog as I will be writing more about my life with autism.
