Caleb and his brotherApril is known as Autism Awareness Month. We know it’s not April yet, but there’s never a bad time to learn how to be a better friend to someone with autism! On Monday you may have watched Joni’s interview with Samuel and his mom. Samuel talked about how it is hard to not be able to use his body to communicate the things he is thinking and feeling. Can you imagine what that might be like? People who have autism have a range of abilities and limitations. (This is why it is called a spectrum disorder. It means that some people can be affected just a little bit and others can be affected a whole lot.) To see what it might be like to not be able to use your words and body to communicate like you want, grab a friend and download this activity. When you are done, let us know what you discovered!
