joni with kidsWhenever Joni travels, she loves meeting kids! On a recent trip, a little girl named Grace (and her sister Charitee) proudly showed her the Joni book. Grace explained that she got an A+ on her book report. Joni was very happy to write “Congratulations, Grace” on the first page! Thinking of doing a book report for school? Learn a New Clap-Rap Song!

Joni’s friend, Bobbie, is a very cool grandmother – she’s written lots of songs for kids (Hymns for a Kid’s Heart and others like it). Recently Bobbie invented a neat clap-rap to go with a new song she wrote. When Joni watched Bobbie sing and clap, she thought that you would like to learn it… and teach your friends, too! Kids Raise Support for Wheels!

joni with group of kids who made a donationpediatric wheelchairsIt’s always fun when kids visit the International Disability Center, and recently, students from Bethany Christian School came for a tour – they saw videos, learned about disability awareness, Family Retreats, and Wheels for the World. During their tour, they stopped by Joni’s office to present a check for $250. Said one student, “We raised this money by collecting recyclable bottles and cans!” Their gift sponsors a beautiful, Regency pediatric wheelchair for a disabled kid overseas. We say, “Awesome! Thanks, Bethany Christian kids!”

Hola, Amigos!

a boy from el salvador in a wheelchairThat means “Hi, Friends!” in Spanish, and here at Kids’ Corner, we’re having a Spanish-speaking fiesta! It’s all because we just sent off another Wheels for the World team loaded down with wheelchairs and Bibles to El Salvador. Isn’t that a cool name for a country?! It means “the Savior” (long ago, when Spanish explorers discovered this land, they wanted to name it after Jesus who protected them on their journey)! And now, we want to help the people of this Central American nation discover just who Jesus really is – so please be praying that God will open the hearts of all the kids and adults with disabilities who will be receiving our wheelchairs and Bibles!
