Lindsay and Elijah at Family RetreatHow does God bring fresh, new life to a weary special needs family at Family Retreat? It starts with your prayers, your volunteer service, and your generous giving. Because of you, hundreds of families have experienced exciting worship, heart-to-heart sharing, His dynamic word, loving friends and joy-filled activities − all set in the beauty of His creation. As moms, dads, and kids pray and play together, God powerfully unites them like never before. Best of all, God uses Family Retreat to bring people closer to Him − and that’s where the healing begins. “After my son Elijah became disabled, I lost my connection to God,” explained Lindsay, a single mom. “The minute I got to Family Retreat, I realized that people had prayed for us. God led us to this place of spiritual refreshment.” Lindsay and her family have given their hearts to Christ and are growing closer together as they grow closer to Him. “Family Retreat is the best place on earth,” says Lindsay. “It’s where I found my connection with God!” Thanks to your faithfulness, they’re back at Family Retreat this summer, stronger than ever ... and still growing! Your prayers brought Lindsay and Elijah to Family Retreat, where her joy in Christ was restored.

I am thanking God that he made a way for you to connect and put a smile back on your face. Elijah is very precious.

I love hearing stories like this. The environment at Family Retreats is blessed. People with disabilities are encouraged and empowered to live beyond the stigmas that others have placed upon them and which, for some, they have accepted as their lot in life. As I read the Bible I see only one class of people: Man(woman). And so the same promise given to the disabled is the same given to everyone: Hebrews 7:25 (Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.) It is a blessing to hear how people are returning to God, by way of taking that promise to heart
