It was hard to believe. One, two, three, four, five disabled brothers were lifted from the bus on a hot day in West Africa. The last brother emerged— Vincent, the 20-year old fulltime caregiver for all five of his beloved brothers. On this day, Vincent had somehow managed to bring them all to our Wheels for the World distribution. It was an astonishing sight. Because of your faithful support and God’s supply, Wheels for the World provided all five brothers with customized wheelchairs—and all five young men were beautifully served in the name of Jesus. Lifted from the ground and seated for the very first time in all their lives, the brothers grinned and high-fived each other. Vincent grinned back and bent over each of his brothers in turn. Soon, Vincent and his brothers rolled off to the official “wheelchair training” done at every Wheels for the World distribution … they checked out the brakes, rolled forward and backwards—five guys learning to “drive” for the first time. But Vincent ran back to the team, as they were packing up to leave after a hard, sweaty day of work. “Madame, madame! Where are the Bibles for my brothers? Please, please! Where are the Bibles?” In all the excitement of the day and five miracle wheelchairs, Vincent had not forgotten the most important thing. The Bible you send with every wheelchair tells the story best. It’s a story Vincent can’t wait to read to his five brothers.
