A special note to Friends and Family:

Joni is resting in the recovery room with Ken after a successful procedure - Praise God! The initial doctor's reports indicate that it appears that some lymph nodes were affected by the cancer and Joni will need chemotherapy to follow up this surgery. So let's give praise to our loving God for bringing Joni and Ken through this and asking him to give them yet more grace and peace for the next steps.

Joni and Ken - We will be upholding you both in our prayers as the both of you will be going thru this together. I had breast cancer - stage 4. And I am on chemotherapy now until mid- August. Then I will be going thru radiation. The Lord gave us such peace and calmness- the doctors were telling us that it was serious - guess they thought we didn't take it serious, but it was the peace about it that we knew the Lord had it under control - nothing goes past Him without Him knowing. God bless you both for your ministry.

Joni & Ken, I have a special place in my heart for you since I read your first book. You giftedness in sharing God's grace has played an enormous role in my life. A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting you when you came to Break the Barriers in Fresno. My husband arranged a meeting in the evening. Since then, my beloved husband of 25 years has died from pancreatic cancer. My dearest friend also has breast cancer. But like you, I too believe that our beloved Father shifts each trial and sends only those ones that He can use for His glory and our good. Even on the days the tears fall, my faith is never shaken. I cannot understand the why, but thank God and through your ministry I know the "who" and it is enough. I will continue to pray for you and Ken at this newest challenge. There is no doubt that God will use this to minister to even more people. And to your husband, Ken I can pray even more intimately having been the spouse of someone who has cancer. I don't think there is a family anywhere that hasn't been touched somehow by this terrible disease. But what a mercy it is to know God is in charge and only allows that which strenghtens us and brings glory to him. Joni thank you so much for allowing God to use you so mightly and to give you that extrodinary gift of being able to write and speak in ways that bring so much strenght, growth and encouragement to others. I only wish there would be some way that I could give back to you myself as gift the way you have been a gift to me. I will pray for you and for Ken knowing you will be given not only the resources to walk this path, but the ability and grace to share you experiences in such a way as to bring hope to so many. I love you Joni and am so grateful for all the lessons you have given me. And, like you, I know God will use this experience to be a beacon of hope to so many. May you continue to feel the Lord's peace throughout your treatment.

Joni, I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you. I was listening to you on my Ipod last night when you were talking about what surrounds you in your office and work space. I also surround myself with God's word it gives me hope. I don't know who wrote this or where I got it from but I have loved it for years. It goes: Those who put all things in God's hand will soon see God's hand in all things!!!! Somehow I just know that God is using you for great things. I love you and will continue to keep you in prayer.

Joni and Ken, We heard you speak through a video with our Pastor, Jonathan Falwell at TRBC in Lynchburg, VA. It was incredible and your teachings helped me so much. I felt like you were just speaking directly to me. You are an incredible person and God has a very special plan for you and your husband. Please know you will continue to be in our thoughts and our prayers. Much love and blessings to you, Dixie

Hello dear Joni and Ken. We met in Aptos, CA when you spoke in a large church. We were so encouraged by your message and the others there. Our pastor attended your wonderful camp in July and was SO blessed. Their fourth child is a Downs baby and they are so blessed by him. Thank you for showing us now to keep our eyes and hearts on JESUS no matter what. Much love!!!!!

Joni - You have been a very special part of my life for so, so many years. I work in a ministry where I have the priviledge of having devotions with my staff weekly. I was telling them about you and what you had said about glancing at your problems, but gazing at the Lord. This impacted so many of them and I continue to hear how it has helped or encouraged them to keep their eyes focused on Him. We spent a sweet time of prayer for you, and I know many continue to uphold you. I just want to encourage you and love on you and tell you how God is using even this ugly cancer for His glory! You have been a precious mentor to me for many years and though we have never met, I feel somehow connected. Bless you and Ken as you walk this journey and use it as an opportunity to touch lives. Dear Joni, My daughter, Jessica, and I met you at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta when Jessica was a patient there in 1992! Jess was only 16 at the time and an auto accident resulted in a C2 spinal cord injury. We saw you again, near our home, when you spoke and sang at Mount Carmel Christian Church - you were wonderful! You were so kind and gracious to spend time with us and give Jessica such hope! Praise God that she did have recovery down to C4, so she was able to wean off of the ventilator! She is active in church and enjoys her life from her chair to the fullest. You were an inspiration to her and we have never forgotten it. We were traveling a few weeks ago on our annual "girls road trip" when we heard the news of your surgery on a Christian radio station in Colorado. We prayed right then for a good outcome for you and continue to hold you up for the Lord to heal you! It looks like the reports are good and I am so thankful. Thank you again for all you do and have done in God's name; you are a blessing. With love and faith for your comfort, strength, and healing, Nancy Hunt

Joni and Ken, We uphold you to Jesus and seek his endless grace for you both. May His purposes be even more profound, and deeply encouraging in the way that you and Ken and your team have encouraged countless others over the years. We have been blessed many times over by the incredible life stories told and upheld through Joni and Friends. On behalf of the many Australians encouraged and supported by you both, our love and hugs are sent in abundant measure!
