The Book of John in Song

I am a long-time fan of everything and anything Tommy Walker records with his band — his “Generation Hymns” album is in my CD playlist, and you can usually find me singing in the van along with Tommy almost every day on the way home from Joni and Friends. Over the years, Tommy Walker and I have forged a strong friendship around the Word of God, and worship music. So, when he asked me to contribute to his new project “The Book of John in Song,” I jumped at the chance!

As he did with other writer-friends, Tommy assigned me a scripture around which to compose a brief Bible lesson, and he then composed a song to go with that passage. Reading the Gospel, then singing about it? It really ingrained the point of the passage deep into my heart. Sounds like fun, right? Friend, I encourage you to join me in reading and singing God’s Word. Just checkout Tommy Walker’s website to start the free 21-day reading plan of the Gospel of John (you can even download it on your Bible app!). And of course, don’t forget to sing along with the accompanying songs of worship and praise. As John 4:24 says, let’s worship God in spirit and in truth!
