joni and kenA very special thanks to all of you who have been emailing me, posting on Facebook, and commenting on my blog – all in response to Ken’s and my appearance on “The Doctors,” the popular CBS mid-afternoon show. Ken and I were so honored to receive those awards, and your ‘congratulations’ comments really top it off. Most of all, we were thrilled that the TV program showed how Ken and I want to keep ‘passing on the blessing’ to other special needs families through our outreach at Joni and Friends. After all, when God blesses us, the best thing to do is share that blessing with someone in greater need! To God be the glory!

The one time I miss the show - saw the tape, you are both beautiful - loved Ken's affirmation of marriage vows; ordered your book and recommended it for our library. Am taking the online Beyond Suffering course, very thought-provoking, highly recommend to all. God bless and congratulations on your very public award.

Loved seeing you two! You are such an inspiration. Joni, one of the things I really loved hearing you say was that Ken was your husband not your care giver. I've been trying to make my parents see the difference in the roles because he needs help. Hopefully Mom heard that when you said it.

Joni and Ken, It is so important to not be alone. I do not often dwell on those 32 years I was. While some things were normal, my rare disease HAE went undiagnosed and untreated. Many thought I was depressed, mentally ill, difficult. I had HAE a blood disease. My wife has a rare disease too. So to see a couple wade waters like us, you can't imagine what that means! Actually you probably just KNOW what that means! So its been years since I have not been clinically depressed. I have a lot to be thankful for and I like how God has always been there. I call my life "Footprints in the sand with extras", because there's time the Lord picked me up and carried me- one set of prints. But also portions of beach where he dragged me, running foot prints where I went the other way, a huge divot where he tackled me and a few times where there are no foot prints because we went swimming, usually for fun and only he and I know the meaning of that! Hahah! Gosh. Happiness to you both, forever and thank you, Andrew Harrison I married at 32 and it was 2006. I don't o
