Tandem!

Tandem sloganThe other week when I was speaking at Clovis Hills Community Church, I noticed that the name of their special-needs ministry was “Tandem.” It sparked my curiosity, and so I asked Lauren Annin, the director, where she got the name. That’s when she pointed to this graphic on a t-shirt being worn by one of the volunteers. Tandem means “An arrangement of individuals, which are lined up one behind another, all facing in the same direction, and working together to reach a common goal.” What a great definition for a church’s disability ministry! And Colossians 3:14 describes beautifully what energizes the special-needs ministry at Clovis Hills: “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Would you like to begin or grow the disability ministry in your church? Then make plans to attend our Global Access Conference 2015!
