joni being welcomed at the bonclarken family retreatEvery Joni and Friends Family Retreat starts out with a bang as soon as families drive up to the front door of camp. Scores of short-term missionaries line the driveway and front door to the conference center – as soon as the family van stops, our retreat director will greet the family over a bull-horn, with everyone breaking out into cheers and hearty applause. “Welcome,” volunteers will say, “we are so glad you are here!” Then that family’s pre-assigned volunteer will grab the luggage and escort them to their room where balloons and a welcome basket greet them. “Never has our family been treated so royally,” said one mother this summer, “from the very start, the love of Jesus Christ is showered on my disabled child and siblings. It’s amazing!” Three more amazing Family Retreats are scheduled this week in New England, Oregon, and Minnesotapray that the Holy Spirit will visit each camp in a powerful way.

Things at OR FR are well and fine - the STM's have s'mored us up and into our ears (literally!!...well, with a little help from 'our' friendd(s)"!!) Lives are being touched, families restored and reunited. None of this could have happened without the faithful friends who have financially, faithfully, freely and more - prayed, given, sacrificed and worked hard all year long to give US, the families and individuals the respite and rest so longed for. So thanks Joni and Friends - each and every one of you - YOU are the Heroes of Hope to us!! Love from the SUNNY and WARM and CLEAR Oregon Coast!!

Joni, you are the truest of servants. You serve our Savior, and your light is quite bright. For me, and so many others, you edify us, and encourage us, with genuine zeal for service in this dark world, where we need to be lights that refleck His glory and truth. keep on my sister. I long for the Day when we will fall facedown together before our, and then as He siles and greets us, and entreats us to stand up, an perhaps even dance, the joy will be inexpressable and full of glory! Until then I shall pray for you and your ministry to be filled with the Holy Spirit and peace. Amen.
