For This Purpose

Joni and Paige SnedekerAllow me to introduce my friend, Paige Snedeker, who has multiple, and very significant disabilities (this photo was snapped in 2012 when we first met). Listen to what this amazing young woman says about God’s ability to sustain her, despite all her limitations. Paige writes:

“Being Deaf, legally blind, confined to a wheelchair and dependent on breathing assistance, there does not seem to be a purpose in life for me. Have you ever felt the same? Have you experienced a loss of independence, isolation or loneliness? How about insecurity, anger, bitterness, jealousy, sorrow, depression, despair, heartbreak or hopelessness? I certainly have. Yet through dark valleys, God reveals Himself more and more to me. Without my trials, I would not be who I am; without Christ, I would be trapped in total darkness. But now, whenever I fall into despair, instead of wallowing in pity, I cry out to the Lord. And He’s given me a purpose! The Lord has blessed me with the talent of writing and creating art – through my books Sofia and Her Morningstar and Camo’s Journey, I have been privileged to share the hope I’ve found in Christ. To this day, I continue to write and illustrate, giving God all of glory. Friend, there is always a purpose, no matter what the challenge. As Exodus 9:16 says, ‘But for this purpose, I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.’”
