joni and vonetteWe’re in Orlando and on Saturday the 28th, I had a chance to lunch with Vonette Bright, of Campus Crusade for Christ – she and her husband Bill started the ministry in 1951 to reach college students across the country; Campus Crusade is now on every continent reaching millions with the Good News of Jesus (I was involved with it in 1971 while attending the University of Maryland/ Baltimore County). In 1988, Vonette was successful in introducing legislation to make the first Thursday of every May the permanent date for the National Day of Prayer. After we lunched, I asked her to pray for our busy schedule here in Orlando (she did a good job of asking the Lord to help my body ‘get on the right time zone’). But I was most encouraged by the parting scripture from Deuteronomy 33:25 she gave me, “your strength will equal your days.” Onward and upward into the rest of the week… and should you wish to join the prayer effort for Joni and Friends, follow along on our prayer page!

I am so glad to see you on facebook and to see your ministry is still strong. You have inspired me from your first witness on Billy Graham Cruscade. You are one of the inspiring figures for all disabled, seeking and finding the windows of mercy open after the doors have closed. God bless you.

Dear Joni, I have seen you on the video today and I think you have experienced a emotio- nal suffering in having fearful feelings. And at some extent I am glad you had that experience so you can understand what it is,what I must go through every week. And thank you for your word of encouragement.I needed that today.

Love the Brights--owe them so much as CCC was the spiritual light of my college years 25 years ago. Lived in the dorms & my "chauffeur" for church off campus wasn't always reliable. My main church events were the weekly Thurs. night CCC meeting & my Bible study group which were held on campus. God bless!!!

Dear Joni, I cannot begin to describe the impact that you had on our First Orlando family this weekend! Everyone who was at the service Sunday night can't stop talking about how powerful your message was. We all came away with a specific Word from God, spoken through your lips. Thank you for allowing him to use you in such a powerful way to impact so many of us. I especially want to thank you for the time you spent with the children before the service. I am the Director of Children's Music and Worship and I must say that I was "star struck" at meeting you. You have always been one of my heroes! I was with the children as they waited, hoping you would come visit. I can tell you that those children will NEVER forget your visit with them. May God continue to strengthen and use you mightily! In His Love, Naida
