Prayer for Harvey Victims

Like you, Ken and I are stunned by the shocking images of Hurricane Harvey’s floodwaters not only sweeping through neighborhoods, but swamping the halls of nursing homes and residential facilities for people with disabilities – our Joni and Friends teams in Texas and in Mississippi are on alert, providing help where we can. We are working to provide more wheelchairs for transporting people out of danger’s way.

Please join us in praying that all people in the South, including the weakest, the most vulnerable, the elderly, the medically fragile and disabled will not be harmed, but find safety among caring families, churches, and rescue agencies. Pray that those affected by this tragedy will be driven to God and not away from Him. Pray for life—those needing rescued and those rescuing. Finally, ask God how you can give—whether financially through a trusted organization, or volunteering (our good friends at Samaritan’s Purse are laboring side-by-side with first responders). Psalm 112:4 says, “Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.” Friend, let’s work together and reflect the goodness of God in this terrible time. Thank you for hitting your knees alongside us!
