My PET Scan: Thumbs Up!

joni and ken at the doctorIt's pretty cool when your medical oncologist walks into the little UCLA waiting room with your cancer file-folder under his arm and… greets you with a big smile! Praise the Lord, all my blood markers look good and my PET scan is clear (that's Dr. Ashouri giving us his 'thumbs up' :-). Whenever Ken and I go in for my three-month checkup with him, he always shakes his head in amazement – and we tell him it's because a lot of people are praying, you included. How we thank God for friends who uphold us through their powerful intercessions! Psalm 103 tells us that God "heals all our diseases" – that means if you've ever been healed from a cold, or the flu, or a broken ankle, or a migraine, or whatever, it's God who has done it. If anything is to be healed, God makes it happen; he's responsible. And we thank the Lord for the way he has worked through Dr. Ashouri! Onward and upward until the next PET scan :-).

Hi Joni! My best friend, sister, and horse riding buddy (Marilyn) who is 55 yrs old, just got dx with breast cancer in both breasts and lymph node. She has surgery this Friday (Oct 5) -- please pray for Marilyn, if you will. You are so right -- God is sooo wonderful! He is in control, and He has a plan for us. He takes away our fears and replaces it with His love and faith :) Thank you for being such an encouragement to me, Joni. I have read all your books and stories, and I love how you get people excited about Heaven (and we should be!) We will never truly be able to live until we are ready to die to self and for Christ. God bless you, Joni -- I will be praying for you, too! Love you!

All praise, honor and glory to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for answering all of our prayers for Joni's healing!! Joni--you are an incredible Christian light and your faith, life, ministry and marriage speak of and to God's Amazing Grace, Love, Mercy and Goodness. Joni - I was praying the other day, reminded of the Scripture we claimed and prayed together in 1 Chronicles 5:20b,22b: Because they cried outto him during the battle, He answered their prayers, because they TRUSTED him.....because: THE BATTLE WAS HIS. Our job was to go forward, to pray, to be Jesus with skin on to every tech, every dr., every pathologist or people we encountered in the elevators....You and Ken have been that.....and more. We praise God with you on your numbers and PET results....and continue with you as you journey. BTW - Thank everyone who is a part of the Beyond Suffering - I've gone thru the book and DVD - INCREDIBLE gem. Bless you ALL.......for those of us also on the front lines 'teaching' but can't make it to sunny California!! (Whopping 52 for a high here today! But they got the hay in!! PTL!)
