My New Floral Note Cards...

Before I had my diving accident, I loved to paint. So when I broke my neck (resulting in quadriplegia), I was heartbroken that I might never paint again. But once I learned how to draw in occupational therapy, it was like 'getting my life' back. To me, the ability to hold brushes between my teeth was a gift from God. And ever since those days in OT, I've loved sharing my artwork with others. The way I look at it, it testifies of the grace of Jesus in weakness. And if God can empower me to rise above my circumstances, His grace can help anybody! Looking for a great way to inspire others to rise above their challenges? Consider sending them my new Floral Note Cards. Each card highlights one of my paintings of favorite flowers – roses, tulips, water lilies, and gladiolas. And I would be honored if you chose to use them… all to the glory of God!

Hi Joni, you are such a blessing to many. Thank you for your encouragement through the years. Just your life encourages me. I have been painting since I was 8 yrs. Old. I saw a movie about your life many years ago. It taught me never to give up. Though I stop painting for a while to raise a family and work I now have picked up painting again at 62 yrs. of age. OK my co-hort in Kingdom mischief, laughter, joy and more, admist the pain/cancer and port flushes: a challenge for you: how about trying a PANSY? Did you know that a pansy (while most people think that means you are a wimp) it is quite the opposite? God made pansies to be the most tenacious, the heartiest in ALL climates and the one flower with a "face" on it, and that most pansies don the color purple, meaning royalty? That's why PANSIES have been my favorite!! (Sorry to my 'Rose-buddy" - roses come in a close but not too close 2nd!) We even found pansies coming up in the gravel once the 10 feet of snow left our driveway - BLOOMING while snow all around it still!! So there's your new challenge!! Tis Relay For Life Season and a luminaria is lit in your HONOR, at each one Relay go to and speak at - at least 1/2 dozen this year!! please pray for him and his loved ones - I know you know what to say!! Kudos re: Bone Fish!!Good on Ken for respite/renewal of HIM, and knowing how HE needs it as caregiver!! We just smoked our first batch of Copper River Reds!! Blessings and s'mores!

I just wish you the best, especially your health. Many thanks for reaching out to the unfortunate; they are sure to learn from you ( your efforts and perseverance in moving on despite the accident to your neck ). The trouble with many is they give up too soon. Hope you would continue to produce master pieces for all to appreciate in the near future. Thank-you very much from Thailand.

I cant' paint and I have both my hands, your such a blessing Joni, love you and your life, I watch you on the Gathers videos and etc. I feel a blessing just to know you and read about your where abouts.

Joni, i have read your earlier books about your accident and the struggles you endured. You are now a well loved teacher of the Gospel, and an absolutely amazing artist. I have one of your little verse books which has your paintings in, and they are beautiful, you are an inspiration to people everywhere, keep up the good work in everything you do. Bless you, xx

Your comment about being "heartbroken that I might never paint again" really touched my heart. I don't have a physical disability, or at least much of one (due to neck problems, I can lift only about 20 lbs.) However, I have had a block about painting for awhile. It is just really hard to get going on any kind of drawing or painting. Thanks for your encouragement.
