My Noble Spoon

Joni using her bent spoonIf you and I were to have lunch together, you would notice the twisted spoon with which I feed myself (it inserts into my hand splint). Once, a bus boy picked it up and tried to bend it back to its original shape.  “Oh no,” I told him, “it's supposed to look like that. It’s bent perfectly so I can use it.” It's the way God works in our lives. He knows He can better accomplish His unique plan when He bends us to suit His will. Now, certainly, my bent spoon is unlike the rest of the ones in my kitchen drawer, and we might think that we, in our weakness, are unlike all the rest. But in the hand of God we serve an express purpose. The metal of our soul may be difficult to bend, but when we allow God to shape our lives, we discover new depths of purpose for living. You are a chosen vessel for God – perfectly suited for His use. Second Timothy 2:21 says, “If a person cleanses himself… he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” Even a bent spoon can be noble… if it’s placed in the Master’s hand.

Dear Joni, You came to my church at Church of the Open Door, in York Pa, just recently. I was trying to talk to you after, our pictures together, but it was difficult, as you were being bombarded by other fans. I felt so terrible afterward! What a tiring day for you. Anyway, I wish I could share my story someday. I was truly blessed and humbled by yours. God Bless to you and Ken! Sincerely, Jenny Linton :)

What a great analogy for how we are supposed to live our life with Christ. Blessings, Joni!

Hi Joni and Ken, I have just been watching Episode44season3 on shine TV here in NZ with my mum. I And so thankful to God for you guys and what you are doing for the Kingdom of God. Also this is the first time I have looked at your web site. And its wonderful to know all that the ministry and your partners are doing including all your support for the poor, orphans and disabled Children. I cried tonight when I saw you fighting against the cancer, that Christ Jesus has healed you from. Again I’m reminded to seek God and His will in our lives. I long to see the miracles of God manifest through us more and more each and every day. God Bless you Both and I look forward to seeing your next Episodes and seasons of inspiring God disciples to disciple with love. You’re a Kingdom shaker, shaking the world with the demonstration of Gods Love, grace, mercy, and compassion. “Keep reminding the world what God can do with his children if we would only let him have his will in us and through us…” Much Love from Me Dion Mum Dawn O’Leary.
