The Secret to a Nation’s Greatness

This painting which hangs in the Royal Museum of Art in Great Britain has real historical significance. Queen Victoria is shown at Windsor Castle receiving an ambassador from East Africa – she is presenting him with an open Bible. Beneath the painting is this inscription: “Queen Victoria did not speak to the ambassador about the number of her armies, or the strength of her fleet, or her vast wealth, or the widespread global trade of her country; instead, she handed the ambassador a beautifully bound copy of the Bible with these words, ‘Tell the Prince that this is the secret of England’s greatness.’” Oh, that our American leaders would come to recognize the Word of God as the basis of the Judeo-Christian foundation which has made our own country so great!
