God's tender care, shown through Wheels team member DebbieDaniel and his mother wait expectantly as we prepare his wheelchair

Teadora was at the end of her strength when she arrived at our Wheels for the World outreach in Peru. Her back hurt from carrying her 8 year old disabled son, Daniel, on the arduous journey. Is it possible there will be a wheelchair for Daniel? Will I be able to even afford it? These were the questions that consumed her mind that day. But the needs of her son compelled her to come. Teadora labors relentlessly to provide for her son. She works all day under the beating sun, toiling in the furrows of potatoes, wheat and lima beans. She saves every penny to provide food and few items of clothing for Daniel. There is nothing left over. As a shiny, brand new pediatric wheelchair is brought out for Daniel, Teadora’s brow creases with worry… I can’t afford this wheelchair. It’s too nice—too expensive. Her heart sinks as she thinks to herself, What will Daniel say when I tell him we can’t afford it? Quietly and timidly she asks our therapists, “How much will this wheelchair cost? I won’t be able to afford…” Before she can even finish her sentence, our Wheels therapist chimes in. “It’s free! It’s a gift! From God to you!” Because of your generosity, the impossible became possible for Daniel and Teadora that day. “Today you have strengthened my faith to ask God for impossible things,” she told us. “You have shown me, nothing is impossible with God! Thank you!”
