Luana receiving a new pediatric wheelchairLuana receiving a Joni book

Two years ago in Romania, 10 year old Luana received her very own pediatric wheelchair at a Wheels for the World outreach. “It helped our whole family so much more than I can say,” her mother, Oana, told us. “Luana can now go to school safely and comfortably. She has friends now, too. She goes outside to play and feels the warm sunshine on her face. She can finally enjoy and experience life.” Recently, Luana and Oana came back to our Wheels outreach, because Luana is growing. Our Wheels team replaced her first wheelchair with a bigger one and carefully adjusted it to meet her needs. But God had even more in mind for Luana and her mother that day. They were given the book, Joni, and Luana’s mother began to read aloud. The Gospel message overflows from Joni’s story, and soon tears began to fall. “Not only do our children need hope,” said Oana, “but so do we, as parents. Joni’s story speaks words from the Bible that go beyond wheelchairs and disability. These words show us the way to receive strength… and it’s only from God.” This is the reason Joni and Friends comes back year after year. Because of your faithfulness, people living with disability and their families are receiving the Gospel of Jesus! And because of you, families like Luana’s are being transformed by the love and hope that only God can give.
