kristyn and joni in the chapel at the international disability centerKristyn Getty and her husband Keith have been at the forefront of the modern hymn movement over the past decade demonstrating the ability to successfully bridge the gap between the traditional and contemporary. Ken and I first met the Gettys at a National Religious Broadcaster’s Convention when, on the spur-of-the-moment, we gathered to sing hymns at a reception – before long, scores of broadcasters joined in to harmonize. After that, the four of us became fast friends. Keith and Kristyn have visited the Joni and Friends International Disability Center and performed (with their band) for our staff – during their visit, Kristyn and I visited the IDC chapel to share a few songs together. My favorite album of theirs? “Awaken the Dawn”!

My best friend recently treated me to The Getty's Celtic Christmas Concert @ her church in Johnson City, NY...I had never heard them before & was very impressed with their music. Kristin has the voice of an angel & the entire ensemble is amazingly talented. Having Irish roots I truly appreciated the Celtic flavor in their songs. It was an experience I will always cherish with my very special friend :)

I, too, have been captured by the beauty of the spirit released by Kristyn and Keith. I had the pleasure of meeting them at a pastor's conference at Alister Begg's church, Parkside. Awaken the Dawn is my favorite also, and Still, My Soul, Be Still as my "repeat" song. Blessings to them and you, who have inspired me tremendously. Happy New Year!

Yes Kristyn and her husband are a great testimony to us all. They (and their band) came to our church, in Fayetteville,AR and performed for us too. I helped work her tables to sell her music and she gave us all a free cd of our choice. She was also "very" pregnant and hope her baby is doing well. You all are in my prayers

Joni, I am a Pastor's Wife. My husband has pastor Cornerstone Baptist Church for 22 years in VA. We have seen many come to know the Lord. Recently, I had a trial come into my life that was harder than any trial I've ever experience! I actually thought at times that my God had forsaken me. But he held me close. Many times, I would be so depressed but you would come on the radio and lift my spirit and heart. God has used you in a great way in my life. I've known you for many years but not until this trial did you become my friend that ministered to me in many ways. Just want to say, I love you my friend and sister. I am thankful for you.

Dear Joni, In my opinion the voice is the most beautiful instrument" to make music with. And it can reveal something of heaven. We can't imagine heaven at all.The perfect and endless bliss! But if we on earth yet have received so much spiritual richess, how will it be in heaven? Then we will sing and worship the Lamb of God before His throne. Blessings to Kristyn and Keith, and to you and Ken! San
