Dr. Bill Krissoff was a successful orthopedic surgeon with a thriving practice and a tranquil life at home. But then in December of 2006, Dr. Bill received news that his son Nate Krissoff had been killed by an IED while on tour in Iraq. Dr. Bill and his wife were staggered, but they knew they could not let themselves be swallowed up by grief. And so, after much thought, Dr. Bill decided that the best response to the incredible sacrifice Nate had made was to sign up as a battalion surgeon with the Marines. It wasn’t easy — he was 60 years old and didn’t meet the age requirement — but he insisted he wanted to help the many men and women who, like his son, had given much for our nation. Just how did he finally received permission to serve? It’s an amazing story, and you simply must see this special video that explains the astounding details! Thank the Lord, Dr. Bill was able to go to Afghanistan and serve as a battalion soldier. Today on Memorial Day, pass on this story in memory of First Lieutenant Nate Krissoff and all the other servicemen and women who have given their lives to protect ours.
