Joni & Ken: An Untold Love Story BookThe inspiring marriage of Joni Eareckson and Ken Tada is revealed to the public today with the release of Joni & Ken: An Untold Love Story. When Ken Tada married Joni Eareckson in 1982, they already faced a challenge most couples can’t imagine: quadriplegia. Compounded later by chronic pain, depression and breast cancer, their marriage was tested beyond the norm. Now after 30 years of marriage and for the first time, Ken and Joni share the secret to their enduring love despite all the obstacles they’ve faced. The Tadas’ transparency is evident early on as Joni shares the story of their first date and her embarrassment at Ken having to empty her leg bag. It’s clear he’s up for the task, and even being called “Mr. Eareckson” on their honeymoon leaves him undaunted about life as the husband of the famous mouth artist and star of the eponymous book and film Joni. As new difficulties and challenges came along, however, the couple grew emotionally distant. Instead of giving up, they each looked to the source of their faith, and found a new love for one another, knitting their hearts more closely than ever. The Tadas knew their experience with emotional distance was symptomatic of too many marriages today, so once they figured out the secret to not just surviving, but thriving as a couple, they were compelled to share that with others. Joni & Ken: An Untold Love Story is authentic and inspiring, bringing to life the “every-day-ness” of the couple’s struggles and the hope of their deepening love.

Just finished your new book, my husband put it on my kindle. Thank you for being so honest. It has helped in having better understanding of those I care for(I am a nurse) as well as enriching my life to live for the Lord.

Next to the Hiding Place, has a moved me so much. You have always been my favorite author and inspiration, but now as you wrote in the book, I will only think of you as "Ken and Joni". When you wrote of the experience of Jesus being so REAl when Ken ministered to you that.. I could feel how REAL your falling in love with each other was. Really I could. The other part I was so moved by was when you returned to the hospital you were in right after the accident. I was washed with how real you conveyed God's sovereignty and peace. You made it so that I felt like I was you lying in that hospital experiencing it myself. I am now going to order 5 more copies as EVERYONE needs to read your book because I think people would not fear but embrace the unknown journey that God has for us.

My son and his wife have been married for more than 20 difficult and painful years. Now separated for almost 2 years, chances for reconcilliation appear nil, much to my great distress. While there appears to be no hope, I REFUSE to believe that. I see this as an opportunity for God to demonstrate His power and grace in healing this seemingly impossible-to-restore marriage. When I heard you, Joni, on BBN, talking about Joni and Ken, I felt a surge of hope in my heart; a reassurance that when a marriage that faces such obstacles as yours survives and thrives, there is hope for my son's marriage. Your are truly amazing, Joni. I am continually impressed by how you depend entirely on God, and how you bless others with your life. I thank God for you.

I have enjoyed your radio program with Ken this week. Please send me a free chapter in your new book. I love your inspiring stories and daily talks on KJLY 104.5 fm. from Blue Earth station at the local Mankato, MN, tower. I also read your book "Pearls of Great Price." I stayed up until 12:30 this morning reading Joni and Ken: An Untold Love Story. Thank you for writing this book, for being so vulnerable. When our oldest died at 3 weeks, 3 days, my husband and I first drew closer, then started to drift apart emotionally. We are finding our way back to each other and your book has given me renewed hope that this is possible.

I am excited to read this. Joni, I have admired you for years and listen many days to your brief radio spot. I am always tempted to get your freebies but don't follow through. I have told many of your inspirational, uplifting programs. I work with Special Ed. students as a paraprofessional in public schools and try to show God's love. Looking forward to reading the 'rest of the story'. Thanks for writing this at a time when so many marriages fail (I am married 30 years).

I have enjoyed reading your books, including this one on my Kindle. Thank you for your story. What a blessing and an encouragement. I have mild cerebral palsy on the left side of my body. Is it possible to format some of Joni Tada's books that are not yet on Kindle to be read on Kindle?
