Joni and Ken with US Service MemberOver a million U.S. service members and their families assigned overseas will be able to watch the Joni and Friends television program as it will begin broadcasting Jan. 17, 2013 on American Forces Network (AFN). The TV program will be broadcast to more than 175 countries and U.S. territories and will provide encouragement and Christ-centered messages of hope, love and grace.

“We are grateful to God for this opportunity,” Doug Mazza, Joni and Friends’ president said. “AFN and those of us here at Joni and Friends are excited to see how God will work through the TV program to touch and bless U.S. service members.”

This 30-minute weekly program, hosted by Joni Eareckson Tada, highlights an unusually open and honest approach to tough questions about the goodness of God in a world shattered by pain and suffering. The TV series presents a dramatic and powerful look into the lives of real people who have endured, or are still living through, heart-wrenching trials. Tada and her guests put Scripture to the toughest of tests, showing why God is worth believing and how to trust Him in the worst of times.
