It Was a Glorious Sing-Along…

Joni singing hymns with the Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton

This past Wednesday, Ken and I joined the “Closer Walk” Bible Study group at the Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton for an old-fashioned hymn sing — it was 90 delightful minutes of lifting our songs of praise to the Lord with like-minded friends on the same journey to Glory! Al Sanders, with his wife Margaret at the piano, led us through all the favorites, like “Love Lifted Me” and “Like A River Glorious.” I was amazed how many knew the words by heart, just as Ephesians 5:19-20 tells us to do, “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Many thanks to the Sanders, Paul Sailhammer, John Coulombe, Kevin and the ‘sound and tech team’ at EV Free for making it such a blessed time for all. One more thing: Grab a hymnal over the weekend and ‘speak’ a hymn to the Lord as a prayer… it’s a great and creative way to lift praises to God!
